TRANSITION EMPLOYMENT CENTER

The Transition Employment Center (TEC) is a program that provides clients with computer and job skills training through projects such as creating newsletters, brochures, building resumes, and handling bulk mailings. This program also focuses on serving school-age students (18-22) transitioning out of the high school environment. Skills learned assist clients in conducting successful job searches, promotes creativity, independent thinking, and a sense of accomplishment.

Through the Transition Employment Center our clients get to participate in many community activities including:

  • Volunteering at the Salvation Army on Thanksgiving Day to help feed the homeless

  • Field trips to the Pensacola State College Art Museum
  • The Student Transition Conference at University of West Florida
  • Special Olympics held at Washington High School
  • Escambia County School District Community Awareness Fair
  • Various Community Speakers including: Debbie Ritchie - Overcoming Challenges in the Workplace, Global Connection - Out of Egypt  Traveling Exhibit, Pensacola Little Theater - Performance through Escambia County Transit System on How to Utilize Public Transportation

Our TEC center along with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services of Northwest Florida is now proud to offer job skills training specifically designed for the deaf and hard of hearing community.
